Heather & Bill's Mtwara Volunteering Adventures

Heather & Bill Jones joined up with AAF’s team including Kerri Demski and me (Shauna) for 4 days to visit and volunteer AAF’s projects. In the 4 days here we; visited sponsored families, the Mchepa farm, Mnolela Secondary School, 3 business centers, performed a assessment for a loan applicant and participated on the EDP semi annual steering committee. Their time and support is truly invaluable. Thank you for supporting us by not only fundraising and joining us up the Epic Climb 2009 but for your time spent in Mtwara.

Sandra Chuma's Bio

Life's most persistent and urgent question is 'What are you doing for others?’
Martin Luther King Jr.

On August 28th, I along with 19 others will begin the journey to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. For me, this will be the most physically challenging undertaking of my life to date. But I feel incredibly blessed to have this opportunity because I know that our climb will literally change lives.

Every cent that is raised through ‘Epic Climb 2009’ will go directly to support the many projects that the Artumas Africa Foundation (AAF) is undertaking to improve the lives of less fortunate people in East Africa. Being from Africa myself, I have seen first hand the incredible poverty. But I have also seen the indomitable spirit of the African people, and I know that the majority are not looking for a hand out, but rather a hand up. And that is exactly what the AAF is providing through it’s various programs and projects.

Please support me and my fellow climbers on this journey, and help us make a difference.
